A Series Aluminium Swing Door Lock (Narrow Stile)
SVDLAI002BK · narrow-stile lever · aluminium swing doors
The same aluminium-door thinking as the sliding model, but with a lever instead of a pull handle — for a hinged aluminium or glass-framed door whose stile is far too narrow to take a normal digital lock panel.
Supplied & fitted
RM1,480 is the Smartverse recommended retail price for this model and it includes installation by a verified MyLock technician.
We confirm the fit from a photo before we book anyone
Some doors need extra work — a different backset, a thicker leaf, a frame that needs packing — and that changes the number. Send a photo and we confirm in writing what it costs on your door. No deposit for a quote, and if your door is not worth fitting to, we will tell you.

Which aluminium door does this one go on?
The hinged one. If your aluminium or glass-framed door swings open on hinges, this is the model — the lever throws the latch the way an ordinary handle does, and the whole escutcheon is narrow enough to sit on a stile that would never take a full panel.
If the door slides, you want the SVDLAI001BK instead — it has the pull handle and the twin hook bolts a sliding leaf needs. Same family, same price bracket, genuinely different hardware. Sending us a photo takes ten seconds and removes the guesswork.
Why a narrow stile changes everything
This is the constraint that rules out most digital locks on Malaysian aluminium doors.
-
1
There is almost no metal to mount onAn aluminium or glass door is mostly glass. The frame beside it — the stile — can be as little as a few centimetres wide. A standard escutcheon simply overhangs the glass.
-
2
The panel here is deliberately slimTall and narrow, so it lands on the stile rather than across the glazing bead.
-
3
It takes a thin leafFrom 26 mm, against 35 mm for the M Series. Aluminium doors are frequently thinner than wooden ones.

We measure before we promiseMinimum stile width is not published for this model. We are not going to tell you it fits until someone has put a tape across your frame.
About that IP66 rating — read this before you put it outside
It is a real rating. It is not the same rating people assume it is.
What it does not mean: it is not a corrosion or humidity durability declaration. Different test, different question. We hold an independent EN 14846 report for the M Series only, and this model does not have one.
So, practically: a sheltered entrance, a covered walkway, an office or shopfront door under cover — fine. A leaf taking direct driving rain all day — we would rather not, and we will say so before quoting.
Where every number on this page came from
Most smart-lock listings mix the manufacturer’s marketing with the seller’s guesswork and label the result a specification. Here is the provenance of ours, line by line, including the gaps.

We supply it and we fit it
This is the part most sellers leave to you. On Malaysian forums people ask strangers for an installer contact — because buying the lock was never the hard bit.

Questions people actually ask about this lock
-
My door is glass with a thin aluminium frame. Will this fit?
That is precisely the case it is designed for — but the answer depends on how wide the frame beside the glass is, and that is not something we will guess. Photograph the stile with a tape measure across it and send it over.
-
What is the difference between this and the SVDLAI001BK?
Door type. This is the lever, for doors that swing on hinges. The SVDLAI001BK is the pull handle with twin hook bolts, for doors that slide.
-
Can I still get in if the battery dies?
Yes, two ways. There is a mechanical key cylinder under the sliding cover on the outside panel, and a USB Type-C port beside it — a normal phone power bank gives the lock enough power to open. Both are visible in the photographs above. Keep the mechanical key outside the house.
-
Is it suitable for a shop front?
Under cover, yes — it is a common fit for office and retail entrances on aluminium frames. Somewhere fully exposed to weather, no. And if the door is a fire escape route, tell us: this lock is not declared for fire door assemblies.
-
Does it work with a folding door?
No — and we corrected this page when we checked. The manufacturer’s catalogue lists folding doors under the other A-Series model, the SVDLAI001BK pull-handle version, not this lever one. If your door folds, ask us about that model instead. We would rather move you to the right SKU than fit the wrong one and blame the door.
Send us a photo of your door
It is the fastest way to a real answer. We will tell you which model fits, what it costs supplied and fitted, and whether we think you should buy a different one.
