CCTV Cameras, Supplied and Fitted
Five EZVIZ models we install alongside our smart door locks — indoor, outdoor, and one that runs on a battery and a solar panel because the wall you want it on has no power. Mounted, aimed and set up on your phone before we leave.

Which CCTV camera do I actually need?
Three questions settle it, in this order. Indoors or outdoors? Outdoor models are built for weather and carry a siren; indoor ones are smaller, quieter and can have a privacy shutter. Is there power at the spot? If not, stop looking at wired models — the battery-and-solar kit exists precisely for that wall. How wide is the view? One pan-tilt camera sweeps; a dual-lens keeps the whole scene and zooms on movement at the same time, which is genuinely different.
What should not decide it is the megapixel number. 4K matters when you need to read a plate or a face at distance. For a five-metre porch, the lens, the night-vision range and where the camera is mounted matter far more — and mounting is the part we are actually good at.
The five models
These are the EZVIZ units we fit as part of a smart-home install. Send us a photo of the spot and we will tell you which one suits it and what it costs installed.

The honest limits
Four things we would rather tell you now than after the install.
Wi-Fi is usually the real problem, not the camera. Most disappointing installs in Malaysian houses are a signal problem at the far corner of the property, not a lens problem. We check signal at the mounting point before we commit to it, and we will tell you if you need a mesh node or an Ethernet run instead.
Recording needs a card or a subscription. A MicroSD card is not in the box and cloud recording is a paid EZVIZ subscription. Budget for one of them or the camera only shows you live view.
Battery and solar is a trade-off, not a free lunch. The CB8 Lite Kit removes the wiring problem, but a solar panel in a shaded corner will not keep up in a wet monsoon week. We will look at where the sun actually falls before recommending it.
Where you may point a camera
Worth stating plainly, because it decides where we will and will not mount one.
Your property, not your neighbour’s
We install cameras to cover your own property and its approaches — your gate, your driveway, your frontage, your interior. We will not aim a camera into a neighbour’s home, a shared bathroom, or anywhere a person would reasonably expect privacy, and we will not fit a camera concealed to record people without their knowledge. If a proposed position overlooks someone else’s living space, we will say so and suggest a different angle or a narrower lens.
In Malaysia, recordings of identifiable people captured in a commercial setting can engage the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. If you are fitting these to a shop, office or rental property rather than your own home, tell us — signage and how long you keep footage both matter, and we would rather set that up correctly at installation.
We supply it, and we fit it
Buying a camera is easy. Getting it onto a wall, aimed properly, on stable Wi-Fi and actually recording is the job.
-
Before you buy
A site check, then a written price
Send photos of where you want cameras. We confirm placement, check whether Wi-Fi reaches, and quote supplied-and-fitted in writing — including how many cameras you actually need, which is often fewer than you expect.
- Signal checked at the mount point
- Cable route agreed before we drill
- We will say when one camera is enough
-
On the day
Mounted, aimed, and set up with you
Bracket, weatherproofing, cable management, then the part most installers skip: the app on your phone, recording confirmed, notifications tuned so you are not woken by a passing cat.
- App set up and tested with you
- Detection zones tuned on site
- Card or cloud recording confirmed working
Questions people actually ask
-
Do these work with the smart door locks?
They are part of the same smart-home install, but they are different systems: the cameras run in the EZVIZ app, the locks in the Smartverse app. We set both up on your phone on the day. If a single app for everything matters to you, say so before you order and we will tell you honestly what does and does not combine.
-
How much does it cost?
We quote per site rather than per box, because the number of cameras, the cable runs and the mounting decide it more than the model does. Send photos of the spots you have in mind and we will put a written supplied-and-fitted figure to it.
-
Can I see it on my phone when I am overseas?
Yes, over the internet through the EZVIZ app. What it needs is a stable connection at the property — which is exactly why we check signal at the mounting point rather than at your router.
-
What happens when the internet drops?
The camera keeps recording to its MicroSD card if you have one fitted. You lose live view and notifications until the connection is back, and then you can still review what was recorded. This is the main argument for putting a card in every camera even if you also pay for cloud.
-
Which one for a house with no power at the back fence?
The CB8 Lite Kit, and it is the only one on this page that answers that question. Battery plus a 5 W solar panel on a 3 m cable, both IP65. Just be realistic about how much sun that corner gets.
-
Is 4K worth it over 3K or 2K+?
Only for distance. If you need to identify a face or read a plate across a driveway, buy the 4K. For a porch or a room, the extra pixels are mostly filling your storage card faster — the lens, the night-vision range and the mounting position do more for the picture you actually get.
